who? what? when? where why?

Gardeners'Guild is an organization established by two Albuquerque individuals as a non-profit designed to be of a new, financially independent variety. It was put in motion with the help of a small board of individuals who were supportive in trying something new. The group is supported by a membership and supply shop that form a resource network of people and goods required by the ever-growing community of urban gardeners.

As a 'guild' (see Webster's definition) Gardeners'Guild operates for three purposes:

1. like-minded individuals

2. supporting all levels of experience

3. working towards common goals or interests.

This guild provides access to tools and information for urban gardeners and today's conditions. In part it was created to offer better options in an urban setting, to combat narrowness in our environment and as a place where new gardeners could ask questions for their individual projects.

Gardeners'Guild was conceptualized in 2000, and came into being (officially) May 1st, 2004. GG is now in it's new location on Old Route 66, in Albuquerque's Emerging Nob Hill neighborhood:

4012 Central SE, Albuquerque NM   87108   505.268.2719
This new location provides an opportunity for the group to expand activities and educational opportunities through demonstrations, learning and tasting gardens, and an urban wildlife habitat.

Help your community grow, naturally. Join Gardeners'Guild.

Here's a great article from the 2004 World Urban Forum that talks about our challenges as urbecologists.
