GARDEN INFORMATION
.
Consider the old fashioned sources for information: your neighbor, your family, the beloved shopkeep. These are still great places to gather helpful tidbits. If your neighbor has an interest in their environment, they also have a keen understanding for conditions in YOUR area. Asking questions of those who live further and further away, becomes an exercise in translation.
EDUCATIONAL ERRANDS
.
Educational Errands are all about taking time to visit a new place that might inspire your own garden designs and choices for a healthy urban lifestyle.
EDUCATIONAL DAY TRIPS
.
Missing the time for a proper vacation? Get a fresh breath of air by taking a short toodle to remarkable places nearby!
Had a good experience you would like to share? unexpected? off the beaten path? Share them with others who want to learn and live more:
email your destinations
and bright spots to gardeners'guild
SOOTHING SIDETRIPS
. For those of you who are socially minded, birdwatching with the Audoban Society or a cruise up to the Jemez can provide a breath of fresh air and inspiring scenery. But NM is full of quiet, reposing places to take in a silent vista, delicate flora and surprisingly abundant fauna.
OTHER CLUBS
.
The Albuquerque Garden Center is located on the south side of Lomas Blvd, just east of Wyoming. Its comfortable facility is both host for the Master Gardeners Program and hub for many local gardening clubs:
NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY OF NEW MEXICO
NEW MEXICO CACTUS AND SUCCULENT SOCIETY
NEW MEXICO IRIS SOCIETY
XERIC GARDEN CLUB OF ALBUQUERQUE
ALBUQUERQUE BONSAI SOCIETY
ALBUQUERQUE DAYLILY SOCIETY
ALBUQUERQUE ROSE SOCIETY
Contact the AGC for the most up-to-date info on individual clubs listed: 10120 Lomas NE or 296-6020.
